Presidents Blog 15.02.16
8th February, 2016
Hello everyone,
I'm delighted to have been appointed president at the recent AGM. I'm incredibly passionate about our town and in particular making sure it remains a great place to live, work and do business.
The Chamber has taken on a lot of new members recently and I very much hope this growth will continue throughout 2016. The more businesses that get involved with the Chamber the stronger our organisation (and voice) will be.
We are starting the year with a B2B event on Tuesday 1st March, kindly hosted by AST signs. Booking is essential so if you would like to come along please contact the secretary on [email protected] or Richard Utting on [email protected]
I'd like to give a big shout out to Penrith Partnership for doing an amazing job of making over the alleyway between the General Wolfe and Shoe Zone. What a difference! A big thank you also to Penrith BID who assisted with the funding. Having a BID within the town is invaluable and without it a number of events would not be able to go ahead and the town would not look half as good as it does. It is my intention that the Chamber will continue to work closely with BID to ensure that businesses are aware of what BID do and how they get value for money. If you're reading this and you've never heard of "BID" then you need to get yourself along to more meetings!
I really do hope to see lots of you at the AST signs B2B.
