Flood Advice Page

We all know the devastation the recent floods have caused and although many Penrith businesses have not been directly affected themselves by the flood waters, we do know that many businesses in Penrith have been impacted indirectly. For example, suppliers have been unable to supply Penrith businesses because they themselves have been flooded or are unable to get supplies out due to road closures. Penrith businesses that deliver themselves have seen an increase in overheads caused by the increased hours and fuel costs caused by so many diversions.
We are aware that there is much help and assistance out there through various agencies. So, rather than duplicating effort, we would suggest that business who have been effected refer to Cumbria County Councils useful Flood Advice page http://www.cumbria.gov.uk/floods2015/ which includes details from the Cumbria Chamber of Commerce regarding how to apply for funding for those who have been flooded directly or are affected indirectly.
If the Chamber can help to put you in touch with agencies we will and if members are having problems with the agencies involved we will be pleased to add our weight.
